I'm in the process of looking for a nice camera. A Nikon DSLR preferably. Just wanted to see if anyone cares to give there opinion on here for what they would recommend. I know photography is expensive, but I can't spend thousands on it unfortunately. I've been looking at The Nikon D40 and the Nikon D60 and just want to know which would be better. I've heard several different things about the D40... that it's not worth buying and I should just get the D60...

But I've also heard that it's not worth spending the money when the D60 isn't much different than the D40, just more expensive. So I should save my money by buying the D40 camera and spend what I've saved on the lenses. Anyone have any opinions that could help me out? I'll be doing more research, but I at least wanted to ask, to see if I can get a bit more info before I buy.
